Get The Little Noises Out Of Your Gear Before Hitting The Studio

All of the little buzzes, fret rattle, noises etc. that are easily overlooked in a live scenario become annoying little reminders in the studio. I have even seen on producer fire a guitarist on the spot when it was discovered during mixdown that the source of the annoying ring that couldn’t be EQ’d out without trashing the vocal was none other than his acoustic guitar track put down some weeks prior. Have the guitarist listen to his or her guitar carefully before walking into the session.
