Large and Small Diaphragm Condensor Mics

Condenser mics also come divided yet again into two more categories, small diaphragm and large diaphragm. The large diaphragm mics are used mostly for vocals, as the larger diaphragm is capable of capturing tremendous subtlety. They also have a reputation for a more pronounced low end. Small diaphragm mics are renowned for the even-ness of their frequency response and can more accurately capture higher frequency instruments, such as violins.
