Pack a Capo To The Studio

Always, always, always make sure the guitarist brings a Capo to your recording dates. When the part that the guitarist is playing is written in E and you want a swampy, Delta feel to the guitar part Ð but the temperamental singer wants to take it up a half step Ð the guitarist can instantly transpose by slapping the Capo on the first fret. The guitarist has all the open string positions available as if it were still in E and no precious studio time was wasted transposing.
