Resolution
Explained. Another
term you will hear with regularity in the world of Digital Recording is Resolution.
Again, the resolution of hard disc systems is always a number, this time related
to the amount of information capable of being contained in the sample rate. This
number always occurs in the context of the amount of Bits (Binary digiTs), the
basic unit of information in binary numbering systems used by computers. Again,
all other things being equal, the higher the number, the greater the accuracy
of your recording. On the downside, the higher the number, the more digital storage
space you need.
